The box is made of seasoned wood and then decorated by hand creating the unique look of the shamrock box with various carvings, inlays and staining techniques. The shamrock box is stained green in such a way that the lovely wood grain still shows through enhancing the beauty of the box. The shamrock box is then further embellished with an intricate hand carved shamrock on the cover in a lighter contrasting green color and further carvings on the sides of the box. With its feathered corner joints and raised interior lining, the green shamrock box is assured of having enduring value as an inspirational keepsake itself. The shamrock box measures 2-3/4 inches square and 1-1/2 inches high so is the perfect place to store special jewelry, coins or other small keepsakes. Each little shamrock box contains literature on the history of Polish box making and a little of how this box was created.
